College Profiles

Each of the colleges and universities listed here have a Brook Report college ranking profile.

What will you see in each profile?

In each profile you will find:

  • Subject Matter Breadth: Each profile includes a breakdown of the subject matter breadth of each university.
  • Other Rating Factors: Among the other rating factors in each profile are: rankings or grades for each profiled college on areas such as alumni engagement, tuition costs, reputation, diversity and renown.
  • Other Information: For each of the profiles, you can find some information that is both fun and useful, like the official nickname, colors, athletic conference, and a link to the official website of the university.
  • Rankings: Finally, at the bottom of each profile you will find tiles for each of the rankings in which the particular university / college has appeared. Just click on the tile to get to the particular ranking page.

Expert Tip: Find the Fee Estimators

In making your college decisions, we strongly advise NOT to be fooled by the tuition “list price,” which you typically find in other college rankings or profiles. Always figure out the discounted price, which will include things like in-state resident tuition rates, and income-based financial aid and scholarships. So, if you are considering attending any of these colleges, one thing we recommend for a lot of students is to look for a financial aid calculator on the official website. Typically you can find a calculator on the financial aid page of an official website, or you can do a search for “financial aid calculator” + college name.

Most colleges have a calculator these days. You just enter some general information, and you will get a ballpark estimate of the discounts and financial aid that you might be able to receive. This can provide a more realistic picture of the actual costs involved, rather than looking at the “list price” tuition numbers that you often find in typical college rankings or profiles. We point this out because a lot of students from middle or lower income backgrounds self-select based on incorrect information on affordability.
